These poems are inspired by the device so brilliantly used in Charles Jenson’s Complaint of Isadora Duncan’s Scarf, which told the story of her accidental death from the point of view of the culpable scarf.
I thought that the idea of telling a story, expressing emotion, from the perspective of an inanimate object at the centre of things was intriguing and inviting.
