“And we are the ghosts that follow, a necklace of stars
Yes, fare forward, Voyagers,
The end of known space could be anything:
A desert stretched between galaxies,
Darkness dusted, pearls of sand. A lighthouse.
Or the absence of comparison, so purely itself it can’t be framed.”
––Aislinn Hunter: Fare Forward, Voyagers
The NASA Voyager 2 probe no longer feels the solar wind & is flying through the interstellar space between the stars. Launched in 1977, and now travelling 54,000 KPH, it will take 40,000 years to reach another star system.
